Personal Touches Make All The Difference
Personal touches make all the difference. When Ken and Stefani first contacted me about their wedding reception. They had a challenge for me, an idea they wanted to try. They wanted to have a first surf instead of a first dance. But, they wanted to be sure this could happen without their guests leaving while they were on the water. After a shirt brainstorming conversation we came up with the perfect way to pull this off.
The Plan
Just as the ceremony was set to begin Ken arrived via the wake board boat along with his groomsmen. he wouldn’t see Stefani until she began her walk down the aisle. After the photos and introductions everyone would enjoy dinner. stefani would quietly slip away and change into a less bulky wedding dress for the surprise. Once changed, she would be re-introduced into the reception and guests were informed of the fun moment. Everyone followed them outside to the dock to witness the fun. Once the surf set was complete everyone came back in to an open dance floor and the party was on! Not other special moments were scheduled. no cake, bouquet, or garter, just lots of dancing. Well, that and a little Fireball (see photos).
The Details
Tellico Village Yacht Club on Tellico Lake provided the beautiful backdrop for this amazingly creative day. Katie Childs Photo and her rockstar team captured all the fun, especially the surf set. And, Michael Durham Entertainment kept everything on time and the dance floor packed (except when someone yelled shots). This wedding has been shared on social media and several publications.
